Terms of Service
Last updated: September 1, 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By using the Speedrun iOS app or the web app at speedrunai.com (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
Speedrun is operated by ChapterAI ("we", "us", or "our"). These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and ChapterAI.
How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Description of service
Speedrun provides short AI-generated video briefings ("Speedruns") on tech and AI, each built from a wide set of public sources. The Service allows users to:
- Watch AI-generated video briefings with captions and narration
- Read each briefing's full script and source list
- Follow source links to the original reporting
- Bookmark briefings and share them via public links
- Create an account to access account-linked viewing totals
3. User responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or tamper with the Service
- Not use the Service to infringe on any third-party rights
- Not use automated systems to abuse or overload the Service
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
4. Intellectual property
Speedrun, including its code, design, and branding, is owned by ChapterAI and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
The source material a briefing draws on remains the property of its respective creators. Speedrun does not claim ownership of any third-party source content, and every briefing names its sources on screen.
5. AI-generated content
Speedrun briefings - including their scripts, visuals, narration, and presenters - are created using artificial intelligence. The presenters are AI-generated and do not depict real people. You acknowledge that:
- Briefings are provided for convenience and should not replace the original sources when accuracy is critical
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of any AI-generated content
- You are responsible for verifying information before relying on it for important decisions
6. Third-party content
Briefings draw on content from third-party publishers, platforms, and social media. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party sources, and following a source link takes you to a site governed by its own terms of service.
7. Service availability
We strive to maintain reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance
- Technical issues or outages
- Changes to third-party platforms
- Circumstances beyond our control
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChapterAI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChapterAI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app or closing your account. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Service.
12. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
